The project has been a ‘labour of love’ for the two actresses in the show, Becky and Fenella. Ever since Fenella read NINE she always wanted to produce it and having worked with Becky on JANE EYRE she found the perfect acting partner for it. With the aid of stunning make up by New College’s Head of Media Make Up, Philomena Liston the two looked suitably downtrodden and battered. Our set, which was brilliantly designed by Chris O’Brien, brought the audience into close proximity and into the uncomfortable world of the two women. You could literally hear a pin drop as the dark story unfolded.
In complete contrast was a Whole Hog Special… another new one act
play, INTERVIEW. Once again this called for a great double act from Becky and Fenella. The timing of the pair was spot on and soon had the audience roaring with laughter at the outrageousness of the two characters.
All in all a great production to work on, and being in rehearsal with two such talented and creative actresses made my job easier. They worked their socks off outside of rehearsals too with line runs and dance routine run-throughs!
Whole Hog doesn’t get a rest as next week will see auditions for
our Halloween show, THE CALL OF CTHULHU.
Busy, Busy!
