It’s been strange being away from the stage after such a flurry of activity throughout April, May and into June. So, let’s hope we can remember the play when we reach the Carlton Theatre in Teignnmouth!
As it turns out, we shall be meeting up with old friends at the festival. Adjudicator Mike Kaiser is one of the very best GODA has to offer and
has always given us insightful and expert feedback-as well as rewarding us with
a few gongs in the past! We are also performing on the same night as theLegion
Players from the Isle of Man. They are principally organisers of the wonderful
Manx Festival of Full Length Plays staged every Easter and which Whole Hog have been fortunate to perform at three times. So, looking forward to seeing Olga, Stephanie and the rest of the group to catch up!
After the festivities of the British All Winners weekend, we shall
hit the ground running by starting work on our final production of
2013.The ‘Funny Ha Ha!’ team of Matt, Becky and Darren will start adapting H.P Lovecraft’s timeless horror stories 'The Call of Cthulhu' for a Halloween performance. They will be greatly aided by Laurence Clift (cousin to Matt) who is the expert on Lovecraft’s work and first suggested a stage version. All four will spend a week workshopping and writing the adaptation. Look out for blogs on the process!
But before that Becky and Matt have to finish off writing their latest play ‘Interview’ which debuts in September. No rest for the wicked!
