Well, another festival season is launched and Whole Hog’s work has caught the eye of the All England Theatre Festival (AETF) and GODA (Guild of
Drama Adjudicator’s).
The company’s productions of ‘Wetwork’ and ‘Funny Ha Ha!’ shared 6 prizes at the Harold Jolliffe One Act Play Festival staged in Swindon last week. Bearing in mind the HJ Festival awards 13 trophies that’s not a bad haul! What’s more important is how both plays were so well received by audiences and the feedback has been amazing.
‘Wetwork’ won awards for best direction and the runner up prize,
meaning it will go onto the Quarter Final Stage of the AETF. ‘Funny Ha Ha!’ took the overall best production (and will join ‘Wetwork’ in the quarters) along with best actor and actress prizes and best original play (given as a new writing
award).
The Quarter Finals will be staged at the Woolstore Theatre in Codford St. Mary, Wiltshire on 11th May. We already have a clash with our next festival, the Oxfordshire Drama Network Technical Rehearsal at the Unicorn Theatre on the same day...the price of success!
