We spent a great weekend in Teignmouth, Devon for the British All Winners Festival.
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect as we arrived on
Friday morning and headed straight into the theatre for our tech rehearsal.
Becky and Darren hadn’t run it for a month so this gave them the opportunity to go over the play and work out their routines. Sarah the stage manager, Pete the lighting tech and Amy the Sound tech were great! Laid back and professional they certainly put us at ease.
We met some old friends from the Isle of Man, Olga and Stephanie then headed out in the glorious sun for a walk on the beach and a play in the
arcade on the pier!
The show itself went well, Laughs from the audience and great timing but no joy from the adjudicator, Mike Kaiser. After five years on the festival circuit nothing comes as a surprise anymore and each adjudicator will have different opinions. So, despite being a bit disappointed we were lifted by the audience feedback and reaction and were honoured to be invited to the BAWF for the second time. A great way to finish off a play that began a year ago and gave
us the opportunity to get a great tan!
